Second Act....NZ
The "second act" of our trip was spent driving from our last stop in Mt. Cook, to Wanaka and then onto Queenstown - the hub of many extreme and outdoor activities. Our first stop wasn't far into the drive, after we started noticing stacked rock "formations" along the road. It didn't take long for us to stop and leave our mark. Not far after we pulled over to grab a quick bite with a tremendous view.
Wanaka was a quaint (but FULL with New Year's crowds) town on a magical lake. The beauty of clear water and crisp air just fills you with a sense of contentment. Unfortunately, the night we stayed, there was an "anti-cyclone windstorm" that came through. I think we were cleaning dust out of our hair, nose, and ears a week later! But the next morning, Jim and I were lucky enough to be taken on a photo tour that ended us at a spectacular view of the lake, before heading back out for Queenstown.

Queenstown is a backpackers paradise, as well as a hub of many "extreme" activities, such as Bungy Jumping, the Luge, the Swing, trekking, skydiving, and much more. We ended up spending 2 nights here because we were so entertained. And how can you leave when every night is filled with a stunning sunset?

Dreaming of Peter Rabbit
One of the best feelings as a parent is walking into your child's bedroom at night to turn off the lights and finding this. It gives you that sense of "I'm teaching my child to love books"....YES!

Boys Being Boys
How can you deny 3 brothers the opportunity to wrestle and play in the grass at the end of a photo shoot? I sure couldn't and am glad their parents didn't either, because I just love what turned out. A mom of two girls myself, I love it when I get to shoot boys being rough and tough - polar opposite of my day to day life of drama and dresses!
I'm revisiting this picture for this week's iheartfaces Photo Challenge - Family Fun!
