Bluebonnet Bliss

Springtime in Texas means Bluebonnet bliss.  I happened upon this field while driving with my sister for her maternity shoot.  After leaving I knew I had to take my own girls back (my beautiful nieces joined as well).  It's a tradition in many families...annual photos in the bluebonnets.

The trick is not missing the window.  It's a short time frame and once the first bloom appears it's something you have to take advantage of quickly or else the opportunity will be missed.  I had hoped to have a Spring Special in the bluebonnets but the weekends just seemed to fill with other obligations.

This may have been our first year, but it won't be our last.
And I can't wait until next year, when we can do it all over again...and maybe even do it for several others!

One Family's Happily Ever After

It's a family's story through pictures, so I'll leave you with exactly that.

First comes love....
Then comes marriage....
Then comes the baby.....
Then comes happily ever after....

I was there from the beginning and have been lucky enough to be asked back for each special "chapter" of the love story between these two beautiful people.  They are a family close to my heart and I'm blessed to watch them grow, in love and in numbers!

The final chapter is complete.
And this is their happily ever after.

2013 Clear Brook HS Senior: Meet Taylor

It's what I would consider a "triple threat" senior....looks, brains, and talent - and this girl has all three.  A skilled swimmer and top notch student, she's off to California next year on both athletic and academic scholarships and I have no doubt she will succeed in everything she does.

Best of luck to you in the next chapter of your life!
Meet Taylor.

My Baby Sister is Having a Baby: Meet Mary

She's the baby of 5 kids and the last to start a family of her own.  She's been the "cool Aunt Mary" for the past 9 years to 9 nieces and nephews, and now it's her turn to be a Mom  (and my turn to be the "cool Aunt Lisa" to another niece of my own!)  When she told me she had decided to do maternity pictures while in town, I was more than happy to oblige!  We started the day with a delicious breakfast at Cracker Barrel and spent the bulk of the day finding the best spots for snapshots.

It was a day filled with sun hats, wildflowers, and Harry Potter and the best part...sister time!
(Sidenote:  she's a Potter fanatic - and children's librarian - has even spoken on Bloomberg Radio regarding the impact of Harry Potter on today's culture!!)

Meet my sister, Mary.

Dress-Up, Tea & Literature: A Baby Shower

It was a big weekend for me as I co-hosted my baby sister's very own baby shower.  It's a first for her, but the last in a long line of nieces and nephews from her siblings.  She's been the cool Aunt for the past 9 years and now it's her turn as Mom.  I'm so excited for her (and even more excited for the maternity pictures scheduled this week!).  For a little girl who loved dress-up, tea and books (and still does)....it was a Mad-Hatter Tea Party, complete with classic literature (instead of gift cards), hat and hairband crafting for her little one, and a variety of tea and treats.  I'm not sure what my co-host (older sister) and I will fill our mornings chatting about from here on out, but I would consider this Tea Party a success.

The Guest-of-Honor....and my Baby Sister :-)
