My Baby Sister is Having a Baby: Meet Mary

She's the baby of 5 kids and the last to start a family of her own.  She's been the "cool Aunt Mary" for the past 9 years to 9 nieces and nephews, and now it's her turn to be a Mom  (and my turn to be the "cool Aunt Lisa" to another niece of my own!)  When she told me she had decided to do maternity pictures while in town, I was more than happy to oblige!  We started the day with a delicious breakfast at Cracker Barrel and spent the bulk of the day finding the best spots for snapshots.

It was a day filled with sun hats, wildflowers, and Harry Potter and the best part...sister time!
(Sidenote:  she's a Potter fanatic - and children's librarian - has even spoken on Bloomberg Radio regarding the impact of Harry Potter on today's culture!!)

Meet my sister, Mary.

Dress-Up, Tea & Literature: A Baby Shower

It was a big weekend for me as I co-hosted my baby sister's very own baby shower.  It's a first for her, but the last in a long line of nieces and nephews from her siblings.  She's been the cool Aunt for the past 9 years and now it's her turn as Mom.  I'm so excited for her (and even more excited for the maternity pictures scheduled this week!).  For a little girl who loved dress-up, tea and books (and still does)....it was a Mad-Hatter Tea Party, complete with classic literature (instead of gift cards), hat and hairband crafting for her little one, and a variety of tea and treats.  I'm not sure what my co-host (older sister) and I will fill our mornings chatting about from here on out, but I would consider this Tea Party a success.

2013 Katy HS Senior: Meet Jacob

It's that time of year....Senioritis has set in and the countdown to Graduation has set in full swing.  Acceptance letters are in the mail and Senior portraits are on the books.
This Senior was lucky enough to be part of a State Champion Football team and was a breeze to work with....ring and all.  And even better, he was happy to be photographed alongside his number one fan....his proud (and beautiful) Mom.  He claims he doesn't take good pictures.  I will have to disagree.
Best of luck in the next phase of your life....and don't have too much fun next year at Texas State studying -- what was it that you said? -- oh, beer and women.  :-)

Meet Jacob.

7 Days New: Meet Camdyn Belle

Introducing the newest member of the Trobaugh family.
She snuggled with her pearls,
Slept through the bright lights,
And didn't make a peep the entire time.
She definitely shined for her photo debut.

Meet Camdyn Belle.

3 Years and Adorable

What makes a 3 year old tick?  According to this little personality, it is cowboy boots, a horse named Scarlett, fairy wings and a magic wand.  Sounds like the PERFECT combination to me.

Happy Birthday to the little firecracker who continues to light up all those lucky enough to be around her day in and day out!

1, 2, 3 Break - Spring Break that is...

It's that time of year....the time of year when the kids are home from school for a Spring Break, ready for winter to be over, yet the weather is still not quite "Spring-like" enough for pools and sun.  So, MoeCakes and crew decided to take advantage of the week off and head to where the sun shines and pools are a plenty.  We are sea bound with some wonderful friends in just a couple days, stopping off first in New Orleans for some good food and possibly a hurricane...or two.  YUM.  I will of course have my camera in tow and look forward to a change of scenery!  However, with no internet access for the bulk of the cruise, I will be out of the world of edits, blogging and Facebook until we return 10 days from now!

So, as I shut down and pack up the car, I want to leave you with some personal pictures I took last week before Moe & Cakes father/daughter dance with Mr. MoeCakes.  It was nice to have a Mom's night, but so much nicer to just see the excitement and love of my two sweets as they dressed up for their night out with Dad.

The Do's

Some of our besties across the street....who also happen to be our partners in crime over Spring Break!

Have a safe and relaxing Spring Break!

Seniors 2013: Meet Drew

Crisp air, blue skies, and a farm.  That was the setting for Mr. Warren's senior pics.
18 year old boys are notorious for being "thrilled" to take their Senior pictures, but I guess it's a right of passage, really.  We've all been there, and it's on every mother's MUST DO in order to graduate.  And this Senior was a good sport...ants and all :).  I could have snapped away all day, just capturing the interaction between Drew and the livestock.  It was candid, lifestyle photography at it's finest.
Best of Luck as you move ahead in life, Mr. Warren.

Meet Drew.
