Second Act....NZ
The "second act" of our trip was spent driving from our last stop in Mt. Cook, to Wanaka and then onto Queenstown - the hub of many extreme and outdoor activities. Our first stop wasn't far into the drive, after we started noticing stacked rock "formations" along the road. It didn't take long for us to stop and leave our mark. Not far after we pulled over to grab a quick bite with a tremendous view.
Wanaka was a quaint (but FULL with New Year's crowds) town on a magical lake. The beauty of clear water and crisp air just fills you with a sense of contentment. Unfortunately, the night we stayed, there was an "anti-cyclone windstorm" that came through. I think we were cleaning dust out of our hair, nose, and ears a week later! But the next morning, Jim and I were lucky enough to be taken on a photo tour that ended us at a spectacular view of the lake, before heading back out for Queenstown.

Queenstown is a backpackers paradise, as well as a hub of many "extreme" activities, such as Bungy Jumping, the Luge, the Swing, trekking, skydiving, and much more. We ended up spending 2 nights here because we were so entertained. And how can you leave when every night is filled with a stunning sunset?
